That being said, Disney+ has the potential to increase its subscriber base by at least 30% by using simple growth hacking techniques.

Growth hacking involves using creative and data-driven marketing strategies to acquire and retain customers.

Here are some growth hacking strategies that Disney Plus can implement to achieve its target:

#1 - Power of Number

Instead of “The Home of Global and Malaysian Hits” they should change the copy to “1000s of Blockbusters You’re Going To Love” or “Thousands of Blockbusters To Choose From”.

#2 - What You Get

The current copy of what you will get by subscribing must be made more compelling. Example:

  1. Unlock blockbusters from Disney, Marvel, and more.

  2. Get to see the new releases before your friends do.

  3. New Disney+ originals added every week.

#3 - Sell solutions

Turn the features into solutions.

Example:

  • “Watch on the go” becomes “Download your favourite movies and watch it on the go”

  • “HD” becomes "Experience Unmatched Picture Quality”

  • “Dolby Audio” becomes "Experience Cinema Sound Quality"

  • “Commercial Free” becomes “Say Goodbye to Annoying Interruptions and Enjoy Commercial-Free Viewing!"

  • “Multiple Devices” becomes "Watch Your Favorite Content Anywhere, Anytime, on Multiple Devices."

#4 - Create a decoy offer

Right now they only have one offer which is a quarterly subscription, but they could increase their number of subscribers by using a decoy offer. Example, they can introduce a monthly offer of 24 / month or 34 / month to make 54 / 3 months seem like a real steal.

#5 - Tackle Doubts

Adding a guarantee like “cancel anytime” or a conditional guarantee like “if you can’t find anything to watch, we’ll give you your money back” will help increase conversions by 2-4x.

#6 - Using Urgency

Incorporating a countdown timer with an exclusive promo code and informing the prospects that the offer will only be available for 24 or 48 hours can significantly increase sales. This sense of urgency can encourage the prospects to take advantage of the offer before it's too late.
